ABOUT THE COURSE : This 5-week course will equip teachers and educators with an understanding of how to set up and facilitate Early Years environments , activities and curriculum that are developmentally appropriate and promote creative thinking for children birth to age 8 .

OBJECTIVES :

&bull At the end of the course participants will :

*Be able to define what creativity is and why creative thinking is vital for a child’s development

&bull *Understand and describe what a “Creative Classroom” looks like .

*Be able to discuss and explain “Loose Parts” and why these materials help children grow and develop .

* Be able to differentiate between Process Orientated Art vs Product Orientated Art and Child- Led vs Teacher Directed activities .

&bull *Be able to design and create curriculum ideas based on the Project Approach and inspired by the schools of Reggio Emilia , Italy .

Course Description :

This self paced course on creativity will include a range of activities , video tutorials, discussions, printables , research articles and examples of real life, high quality creative environments, activities and projects for the students to learn from and about . Students will have an opportunity to interact with the course facilitator and will be required to participate in discussions, on the Chrysaellect M.E.E.T Learning Platform . submit reflections and assignments . Once all assignments and reflections have been submitted ,certificates will be given to those who meet the minimum passing criteria of 70 %.
